Wow. Just wow. The Chanel autumn winter 2017/2018 range was out of this world! ( like literally!) the collection was launched in Paris at the Grand Palais.
On a white podium was an imposing rocket, a key element of the launch that was imagined for the occasion. Towards the end of the parade, Karl Lagerfeld and his nephew Hudson Kroening pressed the countdown button together to trigger the launch of the spaceship.
The collection was futuristic yet fashionable and practical. Fitting in with the aeronautical theme were quilted Mylar-esque capes, futuristic silver go-go boots, and silhouettes reminiscent of the “race to space” era; if those elements weren’t convincing enough, Lagerfeld also gave the collection the literal treatment by using astronaut and planet prints and a rocket-ship handbag for good measure.
Below are some of my favorite looks from the collection. These looks really inspired me to be the aspiring fashion designer that I want to be one day ☺️.
